The decisions that drive the schedule and durability
The shower tray and the porcelain format. The flush-with-the-floor tray is now the standard: mineral-filled resin or extra-slim ceramic, a linear or concealed-grille waste and a 1.5-2 % fall towards the drain. Large-format porcelain (120x120, 120x260 cm) reduces grout lines and is easier to clean, but calls for C2TE-S1 deformable adhesive, adhesive on both surfaces and levelling clips. Wall-hung sanitaryware sits on a frame with a concealed cistern rated above 400 kg.
Hard water dictates the brassware. Hansgrohe thermostatic mixers with limescale-resistant coatings, suited to the local water. Porcelanosa, Roca, Duravit and Geberit complete the specification, with made-to-measure screens and a high-end finish.
Tanking and ventilation cannot be rushed. Flexible cement-based tanking across the shower area and the floor, with reinforcing bands at wall-to-floor junctions and corners and treatment around wastes and pipe penetrations.
